VTSS → VTSH
Your Qualification flight uses one fixed departure and destination. Set this route before beginning your official attempt.
Complete the assigned flight accurately, smoothly and safely.
Aeroesport GT is not about racing from one airport to another. Your flight is assessed across the complete profile: takeoff, climb, turns, cruise, descent, approach and landing. Staying controlled and close to the assigned flight targets matters.
What do you actually need to do?
Qualification is a basic aircraft-handling assessment. The goal is to show that you can take off, control the aircraft throughout a complete flight, approach and land safely.
Use the fixed Qualification route
Select the Diamond DA40-NG. Use VTSS (Hat Yai International) for departure and VTSH (Songkhla) for arrival. The Qualification airport pair is fixed: VTSS → VTSH. for qualification.
Use the MSFS route
Let Microsoft Flight Simulator generate the route and waypoints between your chosen airports. Use them as your navigation reference during the flight.
Fly manually
Take off manually, fly to your selected arrival airport, complete a controlled approach and landing, and remain on the runway until the aircraft comes to a complete stop.
Keep the recorder running
Keep the competition recorder running continuously throughout the flight, from takeoff until the aircraft has come to a complete stop after landing.
Participants are expected to follow the fixed Qualification route. Route performance should be assessed under the current competition scoring and penalty rules. The assessment primarily looks at whether you operate the aircraft safely, accurately and under control throughout the flight.
Successful completion: Land at your selected arrival airport and bring the aircraft to a complete stop on the runway.
Unsuccessful attempt: A crash, flight termination, or failure to complete the landing means the qualification attempt is unsuccessful.
What parts of your flight are assessed?
Your flight is broken into different flying skills. Good performance throughout the complete flight matters.
Takeoff
Smooth acceleration, rotation, runway control and transition into the climb.
Climb
Correct speed, aircraft attitude, configuration and controlled climb.
Cruise & turns
Maintain speed and height while using smooth and controlled bank angles.
Descent
Manage power, speed, attitude and descent without aggressive corrections.
Final approach
Establish a stable approach with the correct speed, glide path and runway alignment.
Landing
Touch down under control, remain on the runway and maintain centreline.
The main competition rules
These are the important rules every participant should understand before beginning an official flight.
DA40 NG flight reference
These targets help explain the competition flying profile. Always follow the current event briefing if it gives a different instruction.
| Flight stage | Reference target |
|---|---|
| Takeoff | Full power. Begin a smooth rotation at approximately 59 KIAS. |
| Initial climb | Approximately 70 KIAS with takeoff flap. |
| Passing 200 ft | Retract the takeoff flap as instructed. |
| By 500 ft | Establish approximately 88 KIAS cruise climb. |
| Cruise | Reference altitude approximately 3000 ft unless the event briefing specifies otherwise. |
| Level turn | Maintain altitude with controlled bank, normally up to approximately 30°. |
| Climbing turn | Maintain climb speed with approximately 15° bank. |
| Cruise descent | Approximately 25% power/load and approximately 100 KIAS. |
| Glide descent | Idle power and approximately 88 KIAS. |
| Final approach | Stable approach at approximately 72 KIAS with landing flap as instructed. |
| Landing | Touch down under control, maintain runway centreline and stop safely. |
How your flight is scored
The recorder continuously samples your flight. Smaller deviations from the target profile produce stronger scores.
Actions that can cost points
Significant deviations, unsafe conditions and incorrect aircraft handling can trigger penalties.
What happens after your flight?
Aeroesport GT is not an instant arcade leaderboard. Official flight data goes through the competition assessment process.
1. Flight recorded
Your official flight data is captured by the competition recorder.
2. Submitted
The recorder submits your competition flight data.
3. Assessed
Your flight is evaluated against the competition profile and limits.
4. Reviewed
Official submissions may be reviewed before the result becomes final.
5. Finalized
Your confirmed result can be used for qualification and ranking.
6. Advance
Successful qualifiers can progress toward the live competition stages.
